Position: HIU Engineer (Foot-Mobile)
Location: London (multi-site coverage via London transport network)
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 DOE + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Occasional overtime and call-out on a rota basis

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced HIU Engineer to join a specialist mechanical and commercial gas engineering business delivering planned and reactive servicing across plant rooms, energy centres, and high-rise residential and commercial developments. This is a permanent role within a stable and well-established organisation that prioritises quality of work, engineer development, and work-life balance.

This is a foot-mobile position, with engineers travelling between sites using the London transport network. A driving licence is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and fault-find Heat Interface Units (HIUs) across residential and commercial high-rise properties

  • Carry out works within plant rooms and energy centres, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and site standards

  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime

  • Communicate professionally with residents, clients, and site teams

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on larger or more complex tasks

  • Complete job sheets, service records, and reports accurately and on time

Requirements

  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding HIUs

  • Strong understanding of plant room and energy centre systems

  • Confident working in high-rise residential and commercial environments

  • Professional, client-facing communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • No driving licence required (foot-mobile role using public transport)
